Title: Just Will Not Run
Post by: Kirk Dillen on July 17, 2006, 05:08:04 PM
Just got an 85 v30 that had been stolen and was in the police impond.  The ignition was drilled out and while the new one gets here I have been jumping across pins on the connector to basically hot wire it on.  I took the carbs off, soaked, cleaned, and reassembled them.  It will turn over but will not run.  If I spray carb cleaner into the open air box it will fire for a few seconds but will not stay running.  I've checked for spark, and the fuel pump seems to be pumping fuel.  I don't mind getting my hands dirty but I just don't know what to try now.   I wan't to make her live again so any help would be great!!!

I can help you get it running, it is the slow speed needle on the carbs, if you are willing to bring it to my place in Seagoville and turn a few wrenches??

Kirk if ya want it done pretty soon, I am off on Fridays (although I will be busy this coming Friday LoL) and always willing to turn a wrench.
Or I plan to organize a wrench session in the coming weeks for a Saturday, I have to check my schedule first.
