Title: Motor clean-up
Post by: Kirk Dillen on September 17, 2006, 06:54:44 PM
I got her running, now I need to make her pretty.  Can anyone share how they detail the motor on a first gen.  The black has gotten chalky and gray.  Will the same product work on the inside of the wheels?  BTY, I have enjoyed the forum very much.  Rebuilding this bike has been a great stress release, not to mention Magna's are my favorite.

Try some S100 engine brightener http://www.s100.com/s100_eb.htm, has worked very well for me. I use it on the engine as well as plastic parts.

Be careful to rinse very completely when using S100.  It is a good cleaner that will do a nice job, but needs to be rinsed for a long time.  I used it and didn't rinse completely and my handlebar controls gummed up and stoped working.  Cleaned the bike and got a lesson on how my controls work.
