Title: slow idle drop
Post by: silveradocowboy on September 24, 2006, 01:17:46 PM
Been working on Deb's V45 Magna and it slowly drops the idle speed. It is worse when you are riding it, the idle takes 2-3 seconds to drop down so the gears don't grind when shifting. I cleaned the carbs last night (finally got to use my ultrasonic cleaner!) so I'm pretty sure the carbs are not dirty or clogged. Anybody have any idea what would cause this?

It snaps back very well. I also checked the cables to make sure there was a little slack. I'm replaceing seals and gaskets between the air filter and air box from Greg's suggestion. Curtis also suggested that I check the diaphrams.

I was just talking about this same situation on my bike this weekend with some guys.  Mine mailny does this when it gets hot.  I was told to check for an air leek in the boots.  You might want to look there too.
