Title: carbs worked
Post by: ronmag on October 07, 2006, 02:51:44 PM
Thanks Greg, Curtis and everyone else for the help.
I pulled the carbs yesterday and cleaned jets and installed shims.
Wow what a ride now. No low end surging, no midrange flat spot.
The pilot screws were front 2 turns and the back were 2.250 factory.
Now 2.750. THIS BIKE WILL RUN NOW!!!!!!!!!!
Once again thanks everyone for the help.

Congratulations on a job well done!  One of these days I'll get around to doing mine.

Awesome, that really makes me want to do mine, the low rpm's are starting to really bug me knowing that it could be better!  Did you have any experience before tearing into it?

In that picture, is that all 4 carbs?

Yes all 4 carbs come out as one unit. Just as Greg said take
your time. I have had previous experience with bikes and my
background is mechanical. Do you have the dodge kit?
Between what Greg posted and the paper work with the kit things
were very clear. Talk Greg into a wrench session or just jump in,
there are people here to throw questions at. If you want my ph.no.
to call with questions I will be glad to help in any way I can.
