I love my Vance and Hines pipes!  I know they're loud, but I like them.

Some wav files from when I first got the bike.

Magnum Magna

I will say that the magnification of the exhaust seems to point out the fact that the Magna needs another gear.  At 5,000 rpm that high-pitched drone can be a little annoying.  But again, it beats the "glub glub" coming from the Harley (in the rear view mirror).

That is one thing I wish it had was one more gear. When replacing the chain I am considering changing out the front sprocket with a larger one.

so when you do change out the exhaust, do you have to do any other work to the engine as far as carbs or feul go??

I would say yes, any change in airflow/fuel flow would require some carb tuning.  Maybe not as drastic as intake/jet mods though.

But I'm not the resident expert...

Every bike is different.  Shimming the needles and doing th idle drop procedure is usually recommended.  If you prefer, you can do the whole Dave Dodge jet kit.

No need for a reason other than the journey.

Just wanted to throw in the I have a set of Cobra's, but they are tapered.  They have some rummble, by not too loud.

I found these on eBay for a steal, and have yet to see another Magna with them.  I liked them for the more classic look they give the bike.

Flea, they look nice. I plan on being in the Woodlands this weekend and would like my wife to hear them. Are you going to be out and about?

Hi Bob.  I should be around, somewhere...  Sunday will best as Saturday is pretty full for me.

Shoot me an email with any estimates on timing, and we can go from there.

Okay, I will let you know as I will be attending kids ball games most of Saturday and may be freed up as they are going to a b'day party on Sunday.

Those are sharp looking pipes.  I might have to look more into those.

rjb/AKA Bob Barram

Don't think I will make it to hear the pipes this weekend. Maybe next time.
