Sealing the air box.....

I've got oil coming from the air box  (see my previous thread: http://www.magnaownersoftexas.com/forums/index.php?topic=1212.0).  Not enough to drip on the ground, but enough get on my engine.  Is there something that I can put around the air box cover to seal it up like liquid gasket or silicone that won't "glue" it shut?  I just want to keep my engine looking nice shiny

When I was concerned about an air leak causing rough running, I sealed mine up
with duct tape. I think it would stand up against a mild oil leak, and it is easy to
take back off.

This is actually normal, as the rpm's go up, so does the airborne oil  as the cam chains sling it...  There is a black rubber hose going from the valve/cam cover to the airbox, sort of like a PVC on a car (valve cover to air cleaner enclosure).

Pretty much just take some cleaner and a towel and clean it up and keep on riding!!!

I've silicone'd mine.  I did it over a year ago, and have had the air box off once since then.  It's cleaned up, and no ill affects noted.

I had some honda brand semi-drying liquid gasket that has the consistency of teflon tape.  I pulled the air filter (cleaned it - K&N) then put the liquid gasket around both the top and bottom of where the air box pinches the air filter.  So we'll see how it goes.

A side note, if you put in a K&N MAKE SURE you remove the stock gasket in the airbox lid.  It does make a difference.

Yea, I did what when I changed out filters.
