Asking $3k on Craigslist for the bike as it sits plus all the extras you can clean out of my garage. $2500 for the bike stripped of accessories (except the seat and grips, I don't have stock replacements).

$500 discount from the above for MOOT members. I'd love for it to go to another enthusiast.

The skinny (cut and paste from Craigslist):

I hate to do it but it's time. She's carried me through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and of course Texas, to Moab, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, over the Million Dollar Highway, through the Twisted Sisters of the Frio valley, up Mts. Nebo and Magazine, and many many others. Don't let the cruiser looks fool you, this is a sport tourer in sheep's clothing with the heart of the fire breathing Interceptor sport bike. She'll drag pegs, surprise supersports, and dust big HD iron, all while plastering a grin a mile wide on your mug and looking dang fine doing it. This is a fantastic machine and I truly love riding it, but with two other bikes in the garage more suited to how I use them, the Magna just isn't getting enough attention to keep the carbs clear, so up to the Craigslists she goes.

The bike was featured in this Peace Love Motorcycles article last year:
Peace Love Motorcycles - The World of Magna

See how she runs - these Arkansas videos were shot from this very bike just a few weeks ago (Mt. Nebo descent/quick ascent is the performance peice):
YouTube - MOOTMaG 2015, Mena, AR

Here's the bike tackling the Million Dollar Highway in Southwestern Colorado (3 of 3 is the real fun one):
YouTube - Magnas vs. San Juan Skyway

Adult and Magna enthusiast owned! I'm a Magna Owners of Texas member, and will continue to be a member of that great riding org!

Always garaged and protected from the elements (unless I was out riding in them).
YouTube - Emptyin' m' ridin' boots

Clear title in my name, in my hand, ready to go.

Inspection and registration good though May of 2016.

The details:

1997 VF750CD Honda Magna Deluxe
VIN: JH2RC4343VM200219
44,781 fast, comfortable, and reliable miles
45-55 mpg (59.5 highest recorded)
Red/black original paint in very good condition
Brand new IRC WF920 Wild Flare tires installed 4/28/15
Mustang saddle - very comfortable, much better than stock
Brand new Avon cushioned grips installed last month
Brand new OEM idle jets installed last month, aftermarket 108 (I think?) main jets cleaned and reinstalled
Hondaline sissy bar and luggage rack with Cyclistic V4 garnish
Shooter sporty windscreen
Leatherlyke locking saddle bags with quick release - easy on/off
Cyclistic center stand - makes chain and tire maintenance super easy!
Progressive fork springs with 12wt fork oil and newish seals
Wheel bearings and steering head bearing recently replaced
12v cigarette lighter style accessory plug on bars
K&N air filter
Crappy looking but functional highway pegs if you want them (I never really used them)
Newish battery, always kept charged

Lots of spares and extras that I've accumulated if you want them - taller windscreen, Saddleman leather saddle bags, battery tender, rear fender and subframe, bag-o-turn signals, wheel bearing kit (I screwed up and bought two), Regina drive chain and sprockets kit, cycle lift adapter, probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Test rides offered with cash in my hand and proof of motorcycle endorsement and riding experience, NO EXCEPTIONS. I'll be happy to demonstrate the bike otherwise.

WILL CONSIDER trade or trade plus cash (from you, I'm not spending money on this deal). Particularly interested in 250-450cc dual sport bikes (must be street legal and 4 stroke, don't care if it's beat up as long as it runs well), trials bikes, motorcycle trailers, small sports cars such as MR2 or MX-5 (standard trans only), F body Camaro or Firebird (V6 and standard trans only), pickup or van in any condition as long as it runs and passes inspection, Subaru BRAT, trashy El-Camino or Ranchero, or whatever else might pique a motorcycle riding Jalopnik's interest.

I'll trade straight up for a Honda Grom even if it's of lesser value, as long as it runs well. Grom runners, this is your chance to upgrade!

I'd like the "cycle lift adapter"
If you strip, I would think about the center stand.

The lift adapter was made from these plans on the tips and tricks page. Not sure it's worth it to ship but if you want it it's all yours.

Anything that gets stripped or doesn't go with the bike will be posted here.

SOLD to the gentleman trading the minivan!

Yes, I traded it for a minivan. Don't you judge me!   Look, I like septupled my (curb weight) investment!

I'm gonna try to get the buyer to join up, he seems like a pretty cool guy. Maybe we can drag him to CO and I can see the old girl run again!

Okay, I thought you bought it yourself!

More info on the Mini Van, we need some giggles and chuckles. Mini Vans are the most uncooliest vehicles for guys but they are the most useful all around also, I wish I had one. They are great haulers and can do most light duty task in comfort and mileage isn't that bad.

Did you get the Big Bad V6, 3rd seat, rear air?

Post Up!

Mini Van I see a VW bus with flowers and peace signs on the side now that is cool. You can put the zero in the back and you are set. Just kidding.

Haha, that would be a minibus, or really, a microbus (with shovels and rakes and implements of destruction). But that thought did cross my mind, more on that later.

Yes, utility factor 8 of 10, cool factor -4. Whatever, nay sayers don't know what they're missing. As appliances go, this thing rocks. It's not particularly fun, but you can take enough fun along to satisfy any urge.

I did indeed get the big bad V6, 4.3l worth. 3rd seat? Check. Seats 8 pretty comfortably. No rear air, but I have some options.

It's a 2002 GMC Safari. It could use a cleaning and a little minor work replacing some sensors and little trim stuff here and there, but it's mostly pretty clean and mechanically sound. It's gonna' be a good little people hauler for when family is in town or a bunch of my friends do a coast trip or something, and pulling the seats will allow it to do some pretty medium duty cargo work. Probably can't fit a bike inside, but it has a class 3 receiver so I can either tow a small trailer or put a hitch ramp on it.

Now, Jerry... A microbus has its own cool, for sure, but it will probably only hold one bike, two small ones if you really crowd them in. This thing, on the other hand, should hold 3 if I do it right.

1984 Chevrolet G20, 305ci V8, 700r4 trans. It was formerly a conversion van,  it was gutted by the previous owner who intended to rebuild the interior but lost interest in the project. I'm planning on tearing out the rest of the interior, asphalt the floor, insulate the crap out of it,  throw in some roll-in chocks and tie-down points, and boom - adventuremobile. Towing that trailer to and from Arkansas with 3 bikes on board left me wanting a better way, and I think this is a good start. Plus it was super cheap so I'm not too deeply invested in it. I'm hoping to have it ready for Dave's Sisters ride in October. I'm sure his Dedicated Riders would get a kick out of the Zero, so I'd love to take multiple bikes down for that event.

Last but not least in the story of Jeff's continuously rotating fleet, and in case you thought I was abandoning the Honda marque altogether, a 2009 CRF-230L. This one is entirely Scott's fault (with some help from the most excellent eveRide YouTube channel) for setting the dual-sport bug loose in my weak little brain. Yes, it's carbureted and I said I was done with that, but c'mon! Doesn't this thing look like fun?! At least the carb (not plural!) is easier to get to on this thing!

Now I've gotta' find somewhere to ride it. There's an urban dual-sport group here in Austin that has a few trails in their pocket right around town. I'm hoping I can get someone to give me a tour soon. Once I have the big van outfitted the way I want, I'll probably take it to some private areas up in Marble Falls or down around San Antonio. I've never done any off-road work aside from "oops, guess the asphalt ends here" moments on the street bikes, so I'm excited to get into some limited traction situations. I know those skills will make me a better street rider, plus, just looks like a blast!

Anyway... updates done... for now.

I'm the guy who traded for the bike. I'm incredibly happy, this bike is cherry. He told me about this forum and I look forward to getting to know the community.

Welcome Joe! Glad you found us. Stick around here, it's a great community and super helpful should you need advice, parts, or whatever! The big annual event is MOOTMaG (Meet and Greet), and it's looking like the next one may be in Colorado next summer led by yours truly, but a few riders organize other smaller rides or invite us to join other groups. There's a Three Sisters run in October, info in the Events forum.

Cheers, and enjoy that ride! I want to see pictures of your adventures with it!
