We've now got 326 members in MOOT as well as 71 honorary members.  When I started hanging out here we only had 82.  LOL.  That was barely 2 years or so ago.  Boy howdy haven't we grown.  Especially when you take into consideration that membership is limited to 4 states.

Our honorary members run the gamut of being from the USA to Scotland to Brazil to Greece to Mexico, Canada, England, Austria and Saudi Arabia.  Quite an international following.

If you do a google (or summat) search on Magna Owners of Texas you'll find a wide variety of web sites that publish our link on their sites.  A good part of our exposure is directly related to Greg Cothern's unflagging devotion to getting our names out there and visible to the world.

There are a good half dozen or so organizations out there devoted to the Honda V4 powerplant but in my humble opinion MOOT has some of the best people and best knowledge of the the Magna motorcycle.

Just a few statistics for you numbers oriented folks:

Total 326 members

Texas 287 or 88% of the total
Louisiana 16 or 5% of the total
Oklahoma 11 or 3% of the total
Arkansas 12 or 4% of the total.

Total 335 Honda Magna's

Vintage ('82-'86) 108 or 32%
Super Magna ('87 and '88 ) 21 or 6%
3rd Gen ('94 to '03) 206 or 61%

That doesn't take into account those members that have since gone on to Valks or GoldWings or something else.  They are still MOOTsters at heart.

There are at least 2 businesses devoted to nothing but the Honda V4 motorcycles whether they are Magna's, or Sabres or Interceptors.

Out of all the different brands and models of motorcycles on the road today I'd have to say that the V4 has carved itself quite a niche.  That's quite a testimony to the appeal of this fine class of bike.

Our MOOT website is one of the most detailed sites around.  In it you can find just about anything you might want regarding the Magna motorcycle.  And if it's not listed on the site, someone in the rank and file will know where to get it or how to fix it or why it's occurring.

Now we have transitioned from a posting list to a forum and we see many other Magna owners posting to the forum and adding their experience to the general pool of knowledge.

It just doesn't get much better.

Thanks to all the members, all the folks that look to us for information and experience, our supporters like Dave Alexander who hosts our web site and forum, businesses like Fat-Max and Cycle-istiC that help sponsor events and of course Greg Cothern our fearless leader up in Seagoville.

I for one thoroughly enjoy my association with MOOT.  What a great group of people and bikes.

I've only known Greg a short time but I can easily see that what you say is true.  Just because an awsome motorcycle is discontinued by the factory for persuit of $$$ does not necessarily doom its rider groups to dwindling numbers and eventual demise.  It just takes someone to care enough to champion the group and actively provide new and exciting things for the membership to partake in and contribute to.

There was once a thriving Texas Valkyrie group called the "Valhalla Six Guns" but when the founders moved on, there was no one left of this caliber to carry on.  I don't know if this group is still together, but the last I remember it was on life support.  Some of the comments were "well that's to be expected since the Valk is no more".  That is a cop out that Greg is not willing to subscribe to and the success that our [Magna] group enjoys proves it.

I am glad to see that Texas has a club that has a forum to help everyone and people that help other people love the wrench sessions part and will certainly be part of one..  Just have to be off the boat at the right time my bike sure needs the carbs cleaned...  Anyway such a pleasure to have all this knowledge around to add to mine..
