Fuel Sensor

I have '82 V45 and was wondering if there is a fix or a mod for the fuel sensor in the aux tank

I'm a newb but I have that same bike and I can't find anything in manual about a fuel sensor.  Are you sure you asking about the right thing?

Hes talking about the fuel sensor in the aux. tank that turns on the fuel light. I havent seen one one ebay but looks like the aux. tanks on ebay come with it installed. Little expensive though... most go for over $80. BTW what is yours doing? Just not working?

Right its the little 1 gal tank or what ever size it is on the left side in the manual it should be under fuel system.
It won't turn on the light I shorted and the light turned on so I know that works, so I pulled it out and unsoldered the wire in it and found only half a wire thats why I asking if anybody has ever repaired one before.

You might try here .I noticed several aux tanks maybe some one will have just the fuel sensor.

Servicehonda.com (http://www.servicehonda.com/parts.php) has a new one for 32.69. Part # is 37810-MB1-008.

I thought I would ask before I look for myself...Do you know...its the part interchangeable between the 1st Gen bikes?

Going by the part number (37810-MB1-008) it only fits the '82 - '84 V45 Magnas, the '85 - '86's ('87 - '88?) have the sensor on the bottom of the gas tank. Do the '85 - '88 V45's have a seperate reserve tank? The V65's have a different part number and I don't have a way to check fitment between the two models now.

I know there's no reserve in the 85-86 V45, just that sensor which doesn't work on mine.....  not sure about the supers 87-88.
