At our Jeff dinner at Luna de Noche I told someone I'd post where I got my oil filter covers.  I couldn't remember off the top of my head, but it was J&P Cycles.  Here ya go: http://www.jpcycles.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PID=7000095&cs=All

J&P number 7000095

These are actually dress covers for the top end of Harley shocks but they fit and clamp over our oil filters perfectly.  $17.99 for a pair of them is much better than the $50 I've seen the "real" chrome oil filter covers sell for.

If you run a Mobil 1 or other long filter, about a half inch of filter at the base won't be covered.  They will completely cover the old style or new shorter Honda filters.

Curtis,

I must have missed something here. I ordered some of these #7000095 in, but they won't cover an oil filter on my magna.

Do these fit the Valk or something?

Not sure if this is it or not, but different filter brands are slightly different sizes.  I was running a Wix filter on my Magna at first, and with it, you could cut the bottom out of an aluminum can and put it over the filter.  My prefered can was Full Throttle, seemed fitting...

Then I switched to a Purolator filter, and it was just slightly larger and the alum can would not fit over the filter.

A lot of folks will put the NOS drink can on the oil filter..

Wow.

If I can just figure out a way to cut the bottom off of a Perrier bottle, I've solved the problem and given the Magna a more masculine look to boot.

David,
Sorry for the delay in responding.  Unless there are clearance issues I don't know how they would not fit the 3rd gen Magna as it takes the same oil filter as the Valk.  You are correct though that I did not use them on my Magna.  Sorry for the mixup, at least they're cheap and you got a buyer.

Curtis, he has a V65 and now a Super and they use a little bit of a different filter size.  Although I thought they would fit as well hehee.

Yeah, I should have specified 3rd gen because I know it will fit after seeing Rod's Bud can.  I thought David was on a 3rd gen when we met him in Granbury.   :-? :-?  I'm corn-fused!

A friend and I was joking about using one of those high octane drinks Full Throttle cans on the filter.

Has anyone seen Mothers aluminum polish used to take the paint off a coke can in a demo? I wonder what a polished aluminum can would look like on the filter?
