This question about Dynos and exact HP comes up a lot, can someone explain the advantage to knowing? Unless you are chasing a National racing championship of some kind, how will a 3 to 5 hp gain help? I've been told that until you have reached your lowest weight and highest racing skills the rest is unimportant. I know a lot of it is bragging rights but unless you know everyone else's Hp, how will that even help?
I'm not trying to be a smart ___ ,I promise, it's just that when the topic comes up I always wonder..

Charles you bring up a good point,  why is it important to know?  The reason for me is I want to make sure my bike is running at its optimum performance, and you can't do that unless you have comparison's.  Thank's for your input......     Lance

Don't misunderstand me, I love a good flat out romp. Not to long ago a guy on a new Victory Vegas was showing off at an intersection and got on it pretty hard, I guess he was thinking no way that little Honda could even keep up. When I blew past him he was so caught off guard he couldn't recover in time to catch me before I let off. My point is I love performance, and would love to know how my Magna stacks up against other Magnas. I would love to have a Magna track day at a local drag strip. I would rather see how my Magna stacks up against other Magnas, than a Dyno machine.

Lance, have you had your own bike tested? That would be a nice baseline against which you could test the effectiveness of any repairs, adjustments, or modifications you make to it.

Mike, I would love to put my bike on a dyno!!!   I just can't seem to find anyone around here that will do it for a "decent" amount of money.  Thanks....    Lance
