I've heard that you want to treat the Chicken Fried Bacon as an appetizer, one order for several people, and order something to go with it.

Lunch time sounds good to me.  That will give the DFW group time to get there and home during daylight. Will be great to see everyone for the first time and some again.

Ok so how does 2:00 sound that gives everyone time to get there from up north or central or east the Coastal group we need to figure out where to meet and work on a route if anyone has a route they would like to take let me know as I am off 45 right below Conroe and 105 is right here but figure we want to take some smaller back roads!!!

2:00 is great Allen, I'll start working on a route from DFW and it WILL be a "Curtis" route!  Be forewarned, if I know my route planning there will be some challenging roads including the possibility of some gravel (hey I never know where my GPS will take us).  Also, it will be a long day's ride and I will ride it at a spirited pace!  Not for the faint at heart.

2 p.m. is great.  That will allow me to get in my normal Saturday morning tennis match before I leave, and still have a leisurely ride.  Haven't plotted the route yet, but will probably just slide over to The King's Highway (21) and mosey on over there.

Anyone from Austin/San Antonio or environs that would like to come along, I would enjoy the company.   8)

Just make sure to stop for gas for the rest of us with 3 gallon tanks!

Feel free to keep yer gravel.

I guess we'll see how spirited it is after everyone greases it up down in Snook

I'll be coming up from Katy, we could meet up around Navasota or Independence.  From there it is all back roads.  I'm thinking 1:00 should put us in Snook with time to spare.

I hear ya and agree.  The only reason I said that is Len and I went for a ride last Saturday and what started out to be a nicely maintained, paved county road suddenly turned to gravel as we topped a hill.  The bikes got dusted up pretty bad in the next two miles and then we were back on the highway.

I think I've got it figured out.  I have turned what would be a 200 mile ride (one way) taking about four hours into a 250 mile ride that will take seven or so.  I'll be leaving the Valero at east I-30 and Dalrock road at 6:15 A.M. to start this one.  I'll be there at 6:00 to meet up and fill up.  I'll probably take a bit more direct route back, but still try to stay off the super-slab.

If anyone wants the route in S&T format or Garmin format, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you.

I'll need some information to hook up with you guys somewhere after your start point. I'm in DeSoto of course.

My route starts out S-SE from the first meeting place in order to rid ourselves of the metro-mess as early as possible, consequently no rendezvous opportunities are ideal.  The best one would have ya'll riding east to Crandall (about 30 miles from Desoto).  We'll be coming in from the north on HWY 741 to hit HWY 175 south and exit HWY 148 south.  175 and 148 is where the Cotton Gin is located so many are familiar with that location.  Microsoft S&T puts us through there at 7:15 A.M. but depending on how we ride we could be earlier or later by a few minutes.  Let's call it KSU no later than 7:30 from Cotton Gin if that is suitable.

Two alternate locations would be I-45 just north of Corsicana or the main intersection in Blooming Grove.  These locations are 73 and 92 miles into my route respectively which makes them much less desirable because our via time could be very hard to nail down.  If we do one of those it will be a "fly by" and not a "meeting/start location" and if we missed each other the rest of the group would need to be prepared to self-lead.

If anyone decides to take one of those last two options, we can discuss them in more detail, otherwise the intermediate meeting place will be the Cotton Gin in Crandall gassed up and ready at 7:15 to pull out no later than 7:30.
