How high can bars be before changing lines

Whats the highest rise in handlebare that can be used before the lines need to be replaced with longer ones.

i think it's 6" rise, 6" pullback that can be used without swapping in new cables. you may have to re route the cables a little different, but i've heard from a few people these bars work with the stock cables.

I installed a 1" riser extension on my existing risers and my Throttle cables are about maxed.. I believe if I wanted to, I could re-route these from going around the neck and could go longer, but the 1" riser without any work is as far as I would want to go.

I installed 6 " risers and found those pulled the lines close to the limit. In fact I had to pull up some slack from the brake line, from below the triple tree wire hanger, to keep full stop to stop rotation ability from pulling the lines taut. Any more than 6" risers will likely need longer cables/lines.

I tried to install a set of T-bars with 8" rise and 8" pullback and the stock cables would not fit (but I didn't try to reroute them).  I ended up getting another set with 6" rise and 6" pullback.  These went on without any problems.  Anyone interested in the 8"X8" set?  They are 1-1/4" diameter Drag Specialties T-bars.  $150 new, but I'll part with them for $130 shipped.

Got home Thursday from my Tennessee/Texas/Tennessee trip, then had to go to class.  Worked yesterday and was not able to work on the bike until today.  Got the seat on just a little while ago, but have not had a chance to ride it yet.  Also, I sold the old V30 today, so now I can tell my wife I got the Mustang seat.

I'm not in any hurry to get rid of the bars and can hold them for you for whenever.  Do you still need a custom bracket to mount your shifter to?  I can work something out in the prototype shop if you want.

The bike show at Washtenaw Community College is on Sunday October 5th (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.).  You can participate in the horsepower dyno shootout.  Registration is only $5 if done before Sept. 19th, and $10 the day of the show.  I'm going to put mine in the show and see what it can do on the dyno.  I'll sign you up next week if you want me to.  You also get into the open house to their custom cars & concepts and custom motorcycle & concepts departments.

Hey BA if you could save the bars, that would be great, but sell 'em if you can.  I don't know when I could sneak that purchase in yet, lol. Yeah I still have not messed with the shifter bracket thing, just didn't feel like it yet. Still have to put in the new kevlar clutch and other goodies I bought this year, including the front springs. I'd definately be interested in the dyno thing. I think my pilots moved on me somehow. it has been been running a little on the rich side at low to mid throttle. I adjusted them all down 1/4 turn and it runs better. I think one of my float bowl gaskets may be leaking also, i smell a little gas and there was some sort of oily residue on one of them too... About the dyno, my rear tire is almost gone, will that affect the dyno? i'm still riding on it, but not going crazy on the turns and water. I'll pay you back for the registration when I see you.
