They had the 19.00 dollar red ones. Did not see the 13.00 ones.

I still think they look good on the side of the motor...  8)

I ordered the Harbor Freight air horns today.

My question did you have to buy an extra mount to mount it to the side of the engine?
I am considering putting one horn on each side of the engine do you have any opinion of that configuration?
Where did you mount the compressor?
Does the instructions say what size the inline fuse should be?

Robert;
I made the mount out of some material I purchased from Lowes and some aluminum and a couple pop-rivets.
A trumpet on each side is going to present some issues.. On the left side you have to work around the choke and the clutch cable... The right side has a large Bolt you can use to mount with.. The Bolt is used on California models to hold some tubes/lines

I mounted the compressor to the bottom front of the airbox (I'm not sure I fully recommend this). I believe the airbox does not completely seal because of the added weight and I get some oil vapor out the lack of seal and spreads slowly down the left side of my motor (I have to clean this up about once a year, so it's not a big problem) It does tuck the compressor out of site nicely though..
I am going to see if I can reinforce the seal when I do the "shim" thing soon.. I may take some pictures if I think I have a good solution.
I have Wolo horns, so it may be different than the HF's, but yes the installation instructions should list what size inline fuse to use...

In the picture below you can see my battery connection and then my inline fuse just to the left of the red probe.

Hoot, I mounted the pump to the left engine guard, against the frame.  It is visible in one of the photos above.  I fashioned a clamp from 1/8 x 1/2 aluminum flat stock by bending it around a 1.25" mandrill after drilling holes in the ends.  The trumpets are mounted with thinner bar stock in the same fashion.

When I get back from NYC later in the week, I will take a photo of the bike with only the trumpet system installed.  All three horns make for a cluttered, confusing set of photos, I admit.

I would like to see some photos of the pump.

I think you were asking Lawrence for the picture...
Here is the best picture I could get of my compressor mount...

Robert, here are a few more shots of the pump mounted to the left engine guard.

Brain storming: Would it be wise not to attach the pump to the swing arm (apposite side of chain).  I am plaining on mounting the horns on the side of the engin using the California bolt.

Not sure how much abuse the compressor will take. It will take some shock on the swing arm..
Now that I moved my regulator, I guess I could mount my compressor to the bottom of my battery box..

I concluded that the compressor would not fit where the regulator is now mounted -- it is larger in all dimensions, and I fear it would get smunched when the swing arm swings up going over a bump (like a cattle guard.)

I got the $13 price from a sale blurb mailed to my home.  It was not a coupon, though.  Maybe the sale had expired.  Did the $19 unit have two horns or three?

Robert, if you mount the pump to the swing arm, the hoses will be flexed a lot.  They may fatigue.

I don't really mind the horns showing.  I even thought of mounting them alongside the headlight, but it would have been a pretty tight fit because of the cheapo bullet lights that Charles put me onto from Wal-Mart.

I like the idea of hiding the pump in front of the airbox.  I may look into this later.  It would facilitate mounting the trumpets alongside the headlight, and make it easier to hide the hoses.

The horns are made of PVC plastic.  I presume the Wolo horns that Hootmon has are as well, so maybe overheating and sagging/melting due to engine heat is an imagined problem...

Harbor Freight sells a horn that strongly resembles the Streble.  May be a "Chinese copy", I don't know.  Makes me suspect that the HF units and the Wolo units come from the same factory in China, and are poured with the very same molds.   Would have to compare side-by-side to tell...

Correct.. Wolo Plastic Trumpets, I've had mine on for a couple of years.. No issue with the heat.. It has not even effected the Fusion paint...

At the Harbor Freight  store the lowest price was the 19.00 one it had 2 plastic red trumpets the 3 plastic red trumpet one was 24.00. The one I ordered is chromed galvanized steel for 11.99 with 7 dollar shipping.  This one is available only on the internet.

In the HF paper only had the air horn that looked like the Streble for 35.99.  It is made by Wolo
called the Bad Boy Air Horn.

And it has two trumpets?  If so, this is clearly a better choice -- presuming you like the sound it makes.  Interested in how this works out.  I may change mine out for chrome ones.  They wouldn't look as goofy, no matter where you mount them...

I have my air horns mounted on the swing arm of my Valk, and the hose goes up to the compressor on the frame.  Installation was about four or five years ago and no damage from flexing yet.
