:mad:As far has dealing with Corbin. I won't do it, you could not pay me to do ANY business with them. I need mine recovered, every time I called them (3x) I got 3 different prices. Plus it was going to take 6 weeks to get it back. Then when we settled on a price they wanted $45.00 shipping on it. When I checked with my shipping clerk it was $13.48 for shipping. So I called them on it, the sales manager "Don" he said "that's we what we charge" , So he didn't care if he made the sale or not. I'm done. I took it to a local shop they are doing it completely custom to my taste for $150.00. It will be ready for pick up Tuesday Feb 24. I cannot believe Corbin has that kind of attitude. I hope you do not any problems like I did.

A couple of things on the shipping:
When they are done it will weigh a lot more than stock.
They will pack it properly is shipping material and send it to a residence which cost more.
The box and packing material is 5-10 bucks by itself.

$45 still seems a little high, not REAL high but....

And calculate in the employee time to pack it and arrange for shipping.  The "handling" part of the charge.

I understand about shipping & handling, but come on $45.00. My company does not charge outrageous prices for shipping and we pay our people to box it up. That price is for a something closer to 50 lbs. No wonder they got the company for sale. Nobody wants to do business with them. They don't give damn.

It may not as outrageous as it sounds. UPS and FedEx both assume a minimum weight based on box dimensions regardless of actual weight, as I found out when I shipped a gift backet to my sister in CA: $25 for contents, almost $50 for shipping. When I objected, I was told that based on the dimensions it would be charged for a certain weight in pounds even if it weighed less than a feather A box big enough to hold a seat could very hit $25-35 even before cost of packaging. It does make a certain amount of sense, because the transport vehicle costs money to operate and a large bulky item reduces the number of things they can carry and get paid to do so. In effect, a bulky item has to pay for what they might have been able to carry but couldn't.

The customer service (or lack of)  and no explanation is what I think took him over the edge.   I would balk at that shipping price as well, but if it was explained (which it sounds like it was not) then maybe you could understand the price.   The main point I am seeing here is that corbin just lost another customer and we are talking negative about them.  Obviously, this is not what they intended as a company.  Hence, that is why they are up for sale.

I hate to say it but I have a Corbin and they wanted 60 bucks to ship it because of the size not of the weight I was kind of surprised my self!!!!

My bike came with a mustang seat.  I was looking at buyin an aftermarket seat because I want the solo look.  No one ever rides with me anyway.

I was going to look at a corbin gunfighter seat, but now I am not so sure. I might look into saddleman.   I might consider trading, anyone got any ideas....

For a manufacturer, rework is a no-profit pain in the part of the anatomy that these seats service!  Even so, there is no excuse for dissing a customer.  Sounds like they have decided that "it would be a great business if it weren't for these pesky customers", and devised a plan to solve their problem!!
