Winter Mod questions...

Ok, the snow has started to come down in Chicago and I now have some free garage time to work on the bike.  I have a few questions for you fellow Magna lovers....

#1 Is it neccessary to install a seperate manual fan switch? I have yet to have my fan turn on. (I have only driven in the Fall) Has any one done this ? Is this a must have mod?

#2 Oil mod, how neccessary is this to be done on a V45 or is this somthing that should be done only on a V65? ( I have a 1983 v45)

#3 Any opinions on heal toe shifters?
