Howdy all,

This is my first post to this great forum. I've been lurking for awhile just reading and enjoying some of the posts. I ride an '02 Magna and love it. I bought it in March of '08 with 2400 miles on it and it now has 17,xxx. Yeah, I don't let any grass grow under it for sure.

I've recently bought some clear lenses for the turn signals and am wondering what size bulbs to use. Do they take the 1157's in the front and 1156's in the rear signals? Also to anyone who has done this are regular amber bulbs okay to use? I mean do they show through the clear lens when not in use? I've seen some chrome bulbs on ebay but they're a bit pricey. I'm just trying to go for the best look I can at the most reasonable price. I really appreciate any feedback and am looking forward to learning and contributing as much as possible in the future to this forum.

Welcome from Safety Harbor, Floriduh..
Can you modify your profile to indicate where you are at??

My wife has the clear lenses and the yellow bulbs on her Sabre.. You can tell, but barely, so unless you're a purest, they look fine.. The 1156/57 sounds right, they are regular auto bulbs..

Done, and thanks for the info and welcome guys.

Can you add this " Conway, Arkansas" - after your arguing statement, that way it will show up on your posts, or you can add it with your avatar like mine.

Anyone know where I can get clear lenses for the turn signals? Would be nice if I could get them witout paying 3 times the prise in postage and packaging, customs and all that. I live in Norway, but we dont have a "moon" (magnaownersofnorway) :?

One alternative to the egg yolk look of clears with amber bulbs, or spending the money on chrome bulbs, is to get a set of the amber bulbs, and a can of silver engine paint (engine paint so it can handle the heat).  Then mask off the base, attach a stick or straw so you can hold it, and give it a "light" coat of paint.

Make sure you get bulbs with colored glass, not painted clear glass.

I have done this on my Magna (2+ yrs ago) and my truck (7+ years ago) and have never had to redo it.  It does cut the bulb output somewhat (light coat of paint is all that's required...), but not much by my calibrated eyeball test anyway.

How much is shipping to Norway from the States? What do stores charge you to ship? We can buy them here and ship but that may not be much better than what you can do through a store.

Sounds good, I just got laid off a couple of weeks ago so I should have plenty of time to ride for awhile. Just drop me an email and maybe we can meet up somewhere.
