Progressive fork lowering springs without taking forks apart???

Hi everyone, i'm new to the forum.  I would like to ask if I can install the Progressive fork lowering springs without totally taking my forks apart? 

I've got a 94 Magna and I've already drained the fork oil and pulled out the main springs, but now I need to remove the damping rod to install the the new progressive top out spring can this be done without pulling the fork apart.

Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum!

You do not need to remove anything but the spacer (witch you will replace with a new PVC spacer), and the old spring, install the new spring, the original washer, and then the new spacer.  refill with the correct amount of fork oil (if memory serves me 530ml in each tube), and button it up..

Thanks Greg, I appreciate the fast response.  But I think that's for the standard progressive springs not the lowering kit set.   According to the Progressive's directions the damper rod needs to be removed to install the additional 1" Top out springs which they supplied,  I assume I have to remove the small screw at the base of the forks after I pull out the axle and that should allow me to fish out the damper rod.

If you are talking about the lowering kit from Progressive then I think you WILL have to take them apart there is a lower spring that goes in the bottom IIRC....

Sorry, you will have to forgive me I didnt read the entire heading, LoL.  Thats what happens when your at Koyote Ranch, you think more of riding and telling lies than reading the forum hehehe.

YES if you are installing a lowering kit you will have to pull them apart, if you have the manual pull that section, I dont have the files with me to post, maybe someone else will though.  OR use a OEM parts fiche from one of the many site's available online.

Its not that difficult, helps to have an extra set of hands..
