Rebuilt my carbs

So, after reading a bunch of posts on some other board I watch and breaking down the carbs on my parts bike the other day, I came to the realization I rebuilt my carbs wrong.  I did not put the jets or the springs in correctly.
I took mine off and fixed the springs locations, put in brand new float needle valves and seats and rejetted to work with my new K&N filter.  I changed the front cylinders from 95 to 98 and the rear from 98 to 100.  I tried to shim the needle but when I put the shim/washer under it I could not get the "cap" that holds the needle down to go back on.  ???

Anyway, I have not actually ridden the bike.  I started it up and it is WAY more responsive so far.  Then gas started leaking out of the carbs and it died/flooded.  I have not been able to work on it again but I assume I have a float off in some way.

I am anxious to get it back on the road though.  I have a very GOOD feeling about how it is going to run.
