115 hp? I'm not much of a gear head, but that sounds like a lot of HP to me.
V1200 - Per CYCLE MAGAZINE from Jan. 1986: The V1200 BHP is 89.36 max @ 8500 rpm and the torque is 61.41 max. @ 6000 rpm. In a standing start 1/4 mile, it finishes in 11.75 sec @ 115.06 mph.
If it's true, doesn't that mean he's been tweaking the power plant? What would you do to an engine to get that kind of increase?
I'd rather be outside than in.

I think that hp is about right.  It is a 1200 after all.  The V65 has similar numbers.

I guess you're right DG. At the link below, they reference a Dyno at 112 - 115 hp.

Here's a V1200 Dyno which had a peak HP rating of 112-115hp!! Courtesy of Craig Englehart (aka CECDOO)

I still think there are too many variables to put much  stock in hp, torque and 1/4 miles times. I can tell you that my 1200 Madura was fast, scary fast. Like the Magna they are a little tall in the front but well balanced and handles great, there were no mech issues, pretty much bullet proof. Unfortunately Suzuki decided to get into the game about the same time Honda was getting out and I imagine got out for the same reason. I love Magna's, but would enjoy getting together with other V-Four cruiser owners, I think it would be cool. As far as dynoes, I had the Valk dynoed for the most part to see if i needed to do any tuning or re jetting after changing the exhaust. All the numbers fell within normal range and I was told that re jetting wasn't necessary, but if I did, I would benefit from going down a size on my main jets, more than going up. My point is that all our bikes are not created equal even if they are the same cc or model or make. It's kind of like saying my dad can whup you dad, only way you know for sure is if they square off, and even then the outcome may not always be the same. I like to think I have the fastest bike in town ,but I don't, and don't know who I can beat unless we square off. But I do like to brag  and I'm pretty sure I can beat any of y'all, and you'll have to prove me wrong :D :D to convince me other wise!!

THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE BOB !!

Are we talking curves or straight aways? Sounds like a challenge Curtis.

Charles you knew I'd show up in here and I may not be opposed to Curtis and you doing this.  I might be willing to get in this myself.
