O.K. in getting ready to clean the carbs and shim them, if someone that has the shims could PM me their address I will send them an envelope. I would appreciate it.
Took it out for a short spin around the neighborhood today and the miss is gone, so not sure what it was, but still bogs on the takeoff, hence the cleanup and shim.

I have some but not home on the boat...    I think Greg has some get with him. Or you could go to Radio shack and get the small washer assortment and you will have enough for life LOL

Someone correct me if I am wrong.  But a bog on takeoff would more likely be a rich condition wouldn't it?  And, the shims affect mid-range, not bottom end.  ???

A Dead Bog off bottom end is a lean condition, stutter or stumble is contributed to a rich condition. Shims - depends on how close to bottom you are, how far open are you on your throttle.

Terry- from a dead stop it doesn't have any power until I get to about 2 grand(I think)which makes me think it is the slow speed jets that are clogged, after seeing the pics from Charles I wonder what I will find once I get inside of mine, I am also going to drain the tank completely to see if any trash in the tank.

Allen,

I thought you guys bought just the size needed, I can do RS again except I have to measure the thickness and discard the rejects.

Terry-I have a digital micrometer(cheap one from Harbour Freight) what size thickness should I be looking for?

roboto65

Nope sorry we goto RS just like everyone else but I do not measure it is the only washer that fits over the needle and it is a little wider than the stock shim..

The thickness is not as important as all four being extremely close in thickness. If you check thru the package you'll be able to match however many you need  close enough..

Well, the thickness matters depending on how much of a "step up" you need, along with them being the same.
