Got ready to leave for work and had the bike in neutral and the key turned on and hit the ignition switch and got a click!

Took the seat off and tried it again.  The click sounds like it is coming from behind the battery.

Any ideas?

How old is the battery sounds like it is time for a new one. Had to replace one in the Red Magna.

Just replaced it before Moot Mag 9 when I thought I was going to go.  Battery is charged.
When I press the switch to start, the headlight goes out.

Time to double check all of the connectors ...

I would suggest while you are checking the connectors, take them off/loose and put a little dielectric grease on the mating surfaces. This will help prevent corrosion between connections and prevent such occurances in the future

I think Hoot is onto something there.  My guess even before I got to his post was corrosion in the battery terminal area -- between the terminals and the battery.

When operating properly, the 3rd gen headlight goes off when you press the "start" button.

Will look back but battery connection is what I would look at. Make sure you use a wrench not a screwdriver.

Not the battery connection.

Next time I have to work on the bike when it's this hot - I'm moving it into the living room! :D

I just looked at the schmatic for the Gen. 3's. The starter relay switch is located under the battery.

I believe the Starter Relay is under the left side cover... IF I remember right after working on several other bikes.. I did find my cable from the battery to the Relay nearly broken at the Relay side.. Looked like the copper had just broken from fatigue..
She stated that the she heard a Click sound, I presume the relay activating.. But it seems like voltage is not transferring from the battery to the starter..
Check the cables in the path.. More Dielectric grease..

I know you said the battery was good but I would still try some jumper cables just to make sure.
