Do you have a Volt Meter? If so we can instruct you how to check your battery with a load applied.

I don't have a volt meter.  I'll go pick one up today when I have transportation.

I found a loose wire but that wasn't it.

I recharged the battery - and it took a charge, I'm taking it back to the store I bought it from and going to have them check it.

It's just so damn hot, I can't spend much time out in the garage.

Indeed!

I start my day before daylight, and quit outside work by 10 a.m., except in emergency situations.  This summer is almost as hot as 1980.

I picked up a volt meter.  The shop I bought the battery from tested it and said it is fine.

If anyone is in Katy and reading this, please feel free to IM me.  I would be happy for some help. :)

I found a shop in Katy that will work on it if I bring it to them.  I hate to do that if it is something I can fix myself - or someone can help me with.

Check the easy stuff first.  Is the side stand switch in need of attention?  It wont crank if in gear and the side stand down.  Wont crank if in gear and the clutch not pulled things like this have embarrassed me many times!..  LoL.

So I have it in neutral.  Pulled the clutch in and tried it

And it started!

Thank you Greg!  You get a big hug and a 6 pack of your favorite beer next time I see you! :P :D

Thank you everyone for answering my post.  I couldn't do it without you! :-P

The sidestand sensor was not working one time after doing a good cleaning for a parade.  So after that lesson the first thing I do is put it in neutral to see if that was it.  I am sorry I did not think of it.
