My battery is now 3.5 years old (Longest I've had a battery so far - Interstate battery).
I've noticed that the bike has been sort of weak starting the last dozen times I started the bike when it has sat a few days..
SO, I figured the battery was going..

Last night, I put on my riding jacket, helmet, gloves, jumped on the Magna , rolled it out of the garage, Pulled the choke, gave it two pumps, turned the key on - all is well
I hit the starter button, hear a SNAP and all the light go out - dead..
I start rolling the bike into the garage, all the lights come on.. I hit the starter switch, SNAP, all dark..
I took off all my gear, jumped in the car and off I went to my appointed destination..

I got up this morning, took off my seat, I found my Negative terminal cable loose..
I took the bolt out, the Dielectric grease (which is clear) looked more like regular grease.. I took some WD-40, Cleaned up the terminal, cable connector, the bolt, etc.. Put on some new Dielectric grease, put a lock washer under the bolt (Bolt was now to short to reach the nut).. Lifted the nut with a screwdriver, and bolted it all back together..

SO>>>> This is a reminder to all of you who do not..
Next time you take your seat off.. Check the tightness of the terminal bolts on your battery!!

I'm also hoping my weak battery issue will have gone away!!!

after the valk being shipped to Germany I had to buy a new 220 volt charger because the battery was dead.

now I start it every other week or so.  One to check the battery and two to just let it run.

only once have I had a lose terminal on the bike and it was the Honda dealership installed a brakelight modulator.
