Congrats Mike.  I hope to get some real mileage out of my Magna.  Unfortunately I didn't let my first one live long.

P.S.  Now you've got to change your signature's mileage.  ;-)

Great looking bike!  I'd agree on changing tires myself, I use the Harbor Freight tire changer, though I've also incurred a few nicks on the rims.
How do you like the Dunlop?  Is that a 401?

WOW incredible!!!! Hope you get many more miles!!! How is the transmission holding up? Any trouble shifting or 2nd gear issues?

From 2nd to 3rd there is a bit of a clunk.  From 4th to 5th sometimes I feel a little extra resistance or notch to get it into 5th.  On a couple of occasions, I did get it to 5th gear and back on the gas, but after about 3 or 4 seconds, it slipped to nuetral and of course the rpm shoot up.  Its a bad feeling when that happens.
Part of the issue may be some slop in the gear shifter and me shifting.  It seams to be wear on the shaft the shifter pivots on.  I put a stainless washer on the shaft to take out some slack.  I'll need to do something soon maybe the gear shifter is wallowed out on the inside.

My yellow bike would slip out of 2nd occasionally... I think it's just wear in the gearcase.
LIMAGNA replaced the shifter mechanism with an upgraded aftermarket part... I wonder if he has had any issues?

I forgot how these connected, you were taking the slop out of the shift lever. What about where it fits on the shifter shaft spline, is that snug with no play. You do not want to over-tighten as it just bends the metal around the shifter spline.

Thanks for the info, mine was already popping out of gear during hard acceleration in 2nd with only 20k miles. Not often but it happened enough to scare me. I am impressed, as the transmission was also a weak link on my first gen Magna. It would have a hard time keeping in gear under hard acceleration, but that was frequent in several gear positions and at 60k miles. Vs the once in a while at 20k where it could have just been my fault for a bad shift or something.... Good luck with the bike, I am impressed the oil seals are still holding up.

Its actually a K491 Elite II.  I've always used this tire on the rear and get about 17 to 19k miles. I finally changed to the Elite III. It has a different tread pattern.  I have always used the stock K555 on the front and get about 16k.

Still getting ready for the trip. I changed the sprockets and chain today.
I got concerned about the high miles and hours on my voltage regulator. I ordered a new one from BikeBandit and installed it today also.  I'll have a spare now albeit a very used one.
