New milestone today 150,000 miles on my '99 Magna

Wow she's still rolling!  I reached 150,000 miles on my Magna today on the way to work.
Back in April, I had my pocketbook lightened again though.  For several months prior to April, I had been hearing a low speed grinding noise from the rear valve train.  I last had the valve clearances checked at 96k miles.  I began to be concerned about the condition of the valve trains having so many miles, so I bit the bullet again and took it in to the shop and had all valve clearances checked and requested the rear cam chain tensioner be replaced.  I was able to talk to the mech, and he said the vlvs were within spec. and no adjustments necessary.  He did not believe the engine actually had 148k miles, so he pulled the last maintenance ticket at 96k.  The new rear cam chain tensioner resolved the noise I was hearing from the rear.
I guess if nothing else, I am paying a little extra on the valve checks for "peace of mind."  So far I had them checked at 17k, 68k, 96k, and 148k.
I have been using plain old Castrol for the past 127k miles.  I changed the oil and filter every 4k until about 65k, then every 3k since.
I'm hoping I'll be good for another 50k now, right?

If this doesnt prove  my point that the 3rd gen Magna's really do not need to have the valve lash checked when the performance and fuel economy is within normal ranges.

Checked 4 times and has 150K and STILL doesnt need adjustments...  SAVE YOUR MONEY!

One regulator so far at  55k. Most of my miles are on the highway, and it must get good air flow across it.    Ignition pulse gen. at 58k.
I promise to post pics soon and will list additions to bike.  She stays dirty alot due to constant riding and the decal is lifting off the tank on one side.  The chrome still looks pretty good when I wax.

150000 miles way to go.  I am riding less in the winter so I don't know if I will make it to 150000.
and because I am splitting my drive time up with my wife's bike and her truck.
She is still asking if I want a new bike but I love the Magna and not planing on replacing it.
I did not want to tell her about the turn signal button because one more reason to get a new bike.
I am afraid if they do make a new Magna they will make something with a bigger frame.  I really like the size.  I like the Valkery but for me the frame and engine is so big and heavy.

Thanks guys for all the comments.
I have have become tired of paying people to change my tires which I buy over the net and then take the wheel to them.  I watched some YouTube videos and bought 2 tire irons from Harbor Freight.  It wasn't too bad, but I did pick up a few new scratches. I put the wheel back on without the brake hub and chain to check the balance.   Amazingly, with the existing weights, the balance was just right.
In addition, I have never had the vlv stems changed and I have been concerned about failure.  I found someones link here for some angled ones.  They are from motorcycleanchor.com.  I understand the gentleman passed away, but someone has continued his business.  I received mine in about 10 days.

Good looking valve stem, and the last photo will keep the forum police off your back.

GOOD JOB ON THE PICTURE, JUST IN TIME, I MIGHT ADD!

I have the same valve stem for the past several years, it is a good choice. Although I got it thru a different site..
Take the weights off and add DynaBeads, the tire will always be in balance..
