Hello everyone!

I'm posting to gauge interest in parts from my wrecked Black 1997 Magna.

So, I was in a serious accident on my beloved Magna back in May of 2014. I was hit by an inattentive/distracted driver while traveling eastbound on I30 in Grand Prairie. I was smashed between a vehicle and the cement barrier. I managed to keep the bike up and pulled to the side of the road, but my legs were damaged. Left leg was shattered below the knee and above the ankle (they nearly amputated). The right leg was less damaged with only minor fracture in the ankle and a deep puncture wound. I still can't walk, but I should eventually get there.

The bike unfortunately suffered a pretty severely damaged frame, but a lot of the parts on the bike are totally fine. The engine's left side cover has a hole in it, but is otherwise fine. Engine was running perfectly with no issues at all. They keys went missing somewhere between the side of the road, impound, and my garage. I do have the title.

Parts that look to be in great shape:
Seat - I had the foam cut and reshaped to sit lower and further back, it was far more comfortable after the mod.
pillion - stock
headlight - From a VTX in great shape Turns out it is damaged, see pics below.
fenders
mutazu hard bags with LEDs and brackets - they were not on the bike at the time
wheels
fork
Gauges
throttle lock
digital flasher for LEDs
right side cover
mutazu backrest

I'll post some pictures when I can, there are various parts that i'm not sure about yet. Like the blinkers, some are damaged, some are not. pretty sure all the pipes suffered some sort of damage. At least one rear shock is bent. Gas tank it very damaged, but I believe the petcock is fine.

I would entertain offers for some or all the bike.

Feel free to message me!

Hey, hang in there and keep at it.  Really sorry to hear about the incident.  I can't even fathom how you managed to keep the bike up but to also get it stopped and pulled off the road.

I might be interested in a few things but I'm in the middle of a move.  FWIW don't trash the gas tank just yet... the Pan (bottom half that fits over the frame and airbox) is useful if someone wants to weld up a larger Valkna tank.  There... free advertisement!

Many thoughts to you,

I thought someone here might have been looking for a motor or Hoot recommended that as an option.

Thanks guys!

I will have to look but the tank pan is probably intact and would make a good candidate for the valk swap. The tank has a very sharp bend/crease from the cement barrier and I remember it was leaking fuel on the side of the road.

It has been a crazy few months. Looking back I still can't believe I kept the bike up either, instincts/training I guess... I just remember looking down at my legs as I'm guiding it across the highway (everyone behind me had backed off at this point) and seeing my left leg just sort of flapping in the wind, I was able to hold the bike up with my right leg until help arrived. As bad as it was, I'm just grateful it wasn't any worse, and very grateful my wife was not on the back as she often is.

I'm not in any particular rush, just figured with the cold season here, wrenches will be turning and parts might be more useful.

I will try to get pictures soon. If you have any requests, or interested in parts, let me know and I can take pics of those things.

I am interested in the cases for the speedo and tach.  --  I have some road rash on one of my  '96 models.

The headlight is intriguing.  I wonder if it would polish, or is the chrome scratched deep?

Unfortunately the headlight is scratched all the way through, I don't think it would buff out. But all the parts of the headlight are available separately which is how I put it together, so just that ring could be bought and you would be good to go. The part number is 61302-MCH-670. A quick google says partzilla has it for $18.87. Not only does that headlight look better (IMHO) but it does produce a better wider, brighter beam on the road. I'm pretty sure the gauges are in excellent condition.

If the only scratches in the light are on the ring, which I can replace for <$25 or so, I am interested.  If you wish to name a price for the three items, I will certainly consider it.

The Greek - You may want to contact Ripster - He MAY be looking for an engine at a reasonable price...

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of updates. Things with the insurance are finally getting resolved, so I'll be free to sell the bike soon!
