So I'm New to the community and new to magnas, I have a lot to learn. I need my 97 magna's carbs balanced so i called around. 300 @ tjs,  1000+ at central Texas powersports... Lesson, stay away from the dealership..

Hi.  Welcome aboard.

When you say balance I'm going to assume that you mean synchronizing the carbs.

Syncing the carbs shouldn't be but an hour or hour and a half's work, which is usually only about $100.  It sounds like they were quoting you prices for pulling the carbs off cleaning them, syncing them on the bench and then reinstalling them.

For $100 you can buy the really nice sync tool that I have and try it yourself. Or if the bike isn't running poorly and you can wait until September I'll be in Austin area and I can bring my sync tool over and show you how to do it.

Great Jessie - I'm going to pull my carbs and mail them to you in September.. You can sync them up for me!!!

Sure, Hoot. When I get them I'll install them on my bike and sync them... Or better yet. I'll install them on the spare engine at the front of my garage. ;-)
