Evening all,
as you can tell this is my first post and wont be my last

I was lucky enough to acquire a 1984 V45 Magna, reason being is that the front end is pushed back to the engine and the previous owner didn't want it sitting around.

Question:
I'm just starting to look for parts and need to know what other years/models will fit on my new baby.  Main part that needs to be fixed is the forks, front wheel and tank.

I also have a 1979 Honda CB750c which I made into a Bobber and would like to find some spoked wheels and was wondering if I could use my Comstar wheels on the Magna.

Any advice would be appreciated

Well welcome to the MOOT family I have a 3rd gen you have a 1st gen I would think anything within the 1st gen family would work but I am no expert on the 1st gens. We have a bunch of guys that have that knowledge and I am sure they will chime in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcom to the fold.    On yours anything from 82-86 will work for the running gear.  I also know on the tank that the 82-83 will work.  I thnk the 85-6 will work as well but I am not sure.

I just hapen to know where there is an 82' parts bike neer the Dallas area that has a good set for forks and front wheel, I don't remember what the tank looks like though..  Now the spoke pattern on the 82-3 is a little diffrent then the 84, the older one was more star shaped while the newer was straight out from the hub.  As a matter of fact I have the rear off that parts bike to match a '83 front wheel.

If your intrested in the front end and possibly some other parts go over to //www.v4hondabbs.com and send a pm to member Lakota.  Tell him what your intrested in and that Kerry told you to get in touch with him.  He will hook you up if he can.

For some more info on  your 1st gen check out my website http://www.geocities.com/kdf9511/ decated to my 84'VF700C and all other 1st gen V4 Hondas.  Also do some reading over on the BBS and you will find a ton of info.

I'm not sure how bad the damage is but you may also want to check the frame.

I bought a motor off a 3rd gen bike because it was wrecked in a similar manner and they discovered after putting on new forks that the frame was also bent. They gave up and it became a parts bike.

So while you're looking for the forks you may want to keep an eye out for a frame too. ;)

Gil (Lakota on the BBS) also has the frame on that parts bike if you need it.  Last time I saw the parts bike it was missing the rear wheel, foot pegs, side covers and some electrical parts.
