If it can in anyway reduce the amount of heat that the key takes on, so that when I take off the gloves and touch it, I don't almost get 2nd degree burns, I want to know too!  :P

I bought a spare handlebar end cap.
I took and extra key i had made and tried it in all 3 locks marking how far it went into the lock.
I cut the key's head small enough to fit into the cap and allow it to stick out more than the previous marks.
I took some 5 minute liquid epoxy, mixed up and poured into the cap around the key and let harden holding the key straight.

You could probebly use jb weld or some other kind of epoxy.
I'll try to get more more photo's.

I like it because it kind of hides the key. It looks like a chrome part of the engine / Bike.
Once again, I have to give Curtis-valk the credit. It was his idea, ijust copyed

PS i'm making one for my wife's bike in the future I'll try to take step by step pics.

now it would really be cool if you could get it to fold up inside when not in use...
putting a key ring on it wouldn't be too hard.

uh oh, I'm thinkin too hard.  I'll shut up now.

many possibilites once you break out of the "norm"

I know my BMW key folds up for flat in the pocket, or when in ignition it unfolds so it is fairly flat on the bike.

Something else to add to my list of things to do.......As if that list were not long enough!
Wonder if I could put a blue LED and a watch battery or such and a micro switch so I could have it glow BLUE! Hehehehe.

That is a cool key!

I went with a Route-66 theme on my Magna and made a key to go with it. Thought you might want to check it out.

I used a Dremmel for the basic shapes and flat & round files for the details. The badges are hat pins minus the pins and glued in place.

I didn't figure out how to post two pics side by side. This is the before and after shot.
