It's hard to tell from a pic ,but If you wet the scratch with a drop of WD-40 and it dissappears  it is probably in the clearcoat. If it's in the clearcoat you can probably wet sand and then buff it back out. Be careful not to sand all the way thru the clear. You might even be able to buff it out without sanding at all, just depends on the depth of the scratch. If you know of a good auto detail shop they could probably tell you if it can be buffed out. Maybe Greg could hold a get together for cleaning, detailing and touchups. Kinda like a wrenching session without wrenches :)

Yeah Id also like to see a detailing session.....
I've got some hairline thin scratches on the tank where my sons shoe scraped over the top of it once
I thought Id buff it out by hand w rubbing compound but was concerned it would leave a larger dull spot behind....
in short I need someone who knows this stuff taoprovide pointers...
anybody experienced in paint/detailing ?

Len
In the past i've had some success with the dealer touchup paint...comes in a little bottle with little applicator brush. The paint colors match up really well and the applicator gives small line control. One problem is the surface levels don't really match up well.... so some after drying buff out is needed

.............careful with the buffing though, I believe the Magna has a clearcoat.
