Anyone have any stock chrome parts rechromed??  The rear fender rails on my "Project 96" have a bit of corrosion and life experience on display..

I have a few odds and end little pieces that I would like to have chromed as well, anyone know of a reputable chrome shop????

I had a place (Garland) that did these but they are not in the same place. Not sure if they moved or shut down? I will look to see what i can find out.

Greg,

I know more about this place now than I ever knew!

It was Show-N-Go Chrome Shop , corner of Plano Rd. & Forest, Rick Fairless of Strokers owned it. It has been sold, Dirty Joes Chrome Shop opened and has since closed down, Victory Motorcycles also occupied the space and bit the dust too.

I would call some custom/Hot Rod/Vintage shops and see who they recommend such as http://www.northtxcustoms.com/. I don't know them but there name came up in my searches.

Do you need anyone who does Bead Blasting? I have some parts back I wll post a few photos later.

It has been about 10 years ago that I had a pickup bumper chromed at
Economy Plating

This is actually in Balch Springs.  Found this link to them just today:
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7568

It is a forum of car nuts, as opposed to MC nuts, but hey, they use chrome services a lot.  One post speaks favorably of Economy, and there are a number of other suggestions there to choose from.

In any case, the bumper plating was great.  Still driving the old pickup, and the bumper plating has held up well.  There was one section that did not plate well, but the proprietor warned me going in that would be the case.  It was in the recessed area where the license plate mounts, so it was shadowed and didn't plate well.  I painted it to match the rest of the truck, and am still satisfied with the results.  The rest of the truck has deteriorated substantially, and I use it now as a farm truck only, but the bumper still looks great!

Good luck,

Thanks Lawrence, as Bulch Springs and Mesquite are but mere stones throw away!

Greg, have you ever thought about buying a chrome plating kit? I plan to try my hand at zinc plating in the future and will look into chroming also.
