How to change handlebars and grips

Are there any guides on changing handlebars and grips on the 3rd gen magnas? Is it a difficult task?

VERY CAREFULLY LOL   I would make sure to lay a towel of something soft over the tank and from there it is just unbolting the clamps and the 4 screws for the switch boxes and the left grip is attached with glue you might be able to twist it off if not you could cut it off or blow compressed air in it to loosen...

Not to change the subject, but a moving quilt from Harbor freight (about $8.00 investment) works great for that an a mutitude of other uses on your magna, including just throwing it over the bike for a dust cover.

It will if you loosen the handle bars or take them out of the clamps then the throttle grip and switch housing should slide right off.

I remove the chrome end pieces from the grips (the throttle side just unscrews, the clutch side has a tab and slot).  Then I take a thin screwdriver and slide it in between the grip and bar from the exposed end, or grip and throttle tube, and work it around a little.  I then spray some WD40 with the long red tube it where the screwdriver was first inserted.  Just a little twist and the grips come right off.  Then I remove the glue residue before installing new grips.

I took some Sabre stock bars off my wifey's bike and wanted to put them on the magna (would move the bars back about an inch. The bar off of the Sabre did NOT have a nut on the right side, so I backed out of the project...
Is there a work around for this, or did I do the right thing by backing out of the plan???
