If i were to buy just the covers for a hyper chargers would i be able to mount it right onto my magna in place of the stock carb covers?

It has been done but do not know how they did it they would be for looks only.

Exactly what i want them for haha, i know the magna cant use hyperchargers but i like how the covers look on the magna much more then the stock rectangles it comes with.

Easy to fab up a couple of brackets. You can make it work, you just have to locate 2 covers.

I think cruiser customizing has them not sure if thats where i saw them i just didnt know if it was doable. I was also thinking it might be cheaper to make a lowering kit similar to the one that cobra sells.
This guy said he lowered this one 5 inches and you can see the lowing system that was used in this pic, but ive never seen one like this before which makes me think he made it himself, any ideas on what its made from?

The only thing I would trust would be something machined out of a single block of steel.  I wouldn't want to trust anyone's welding with my life.

No need for a reason other than the journey.

I put two of them on my 95 Magna (one on each side).  If you want to do it right, you'll need to cut out the back of each hypercharger so you can stuff all of the things normally hidden behind the carb covers (thermostat, air pre-filter, vacuum joints, etc.).  Also, the hyperchargers are designed to be on the right side of the bike only, so when mounting on the left, you will have a large open slot on the top of the hypercharger and no way for water to drain out of it.  I made some brackets to mount them, cut out the backs so I could stuff all the items described above inside them, and I cut out a slot on the bottom of the hypercharger on the right side and welded those pieces to the hole on the top and then sanded it smooth.  I then sent that hypercharger out for chroming.  Finally, I spliced into the vacuum lines and ran one to each hypercharger so that now the butterflies open and close with the throttle.  It was a lot of work and it wasn't cheap, but it really looks cool and any time I am at a crosswalk, people walk by and stare at them.  It was worth it just for the cool factor.

Wow what did the whole process end up costing if you dont mind me asking.

thegoochking

I dont think its welded to the swingarm, it looks like it functions the same way as the cobra system but extends like 3 and a half inhes further.

I got the hyperchargers for about $130 each, and it cost about $75 to have some really nice brackets made that covered all the open areas between the hypercharger and the bike.  Finally, it cost about $100 to have the hyperchargers and the brackets chromed, so just over $400.  Worth it to me, but maybe not to others.

Whelp for me i like the engine and how smooth it runs, and ive just seen all out customs for dam near every other bike out there but have seen barely a handfull of customized magnas. So my goal is to make mine into something that isn't typically seen as a magna. The most custom i have seen is the bike done by blue flame alley, search youtube for bluflame alley, absolutely rediculous work went into it.

Seems like lowering the bike that much would make the shocks almost useless.  course, you talked of going rigid so that must not matter to you and you must be YOUNG.  8-)  At my age I HAVE to have some shocks, not to mention I like the twisties!

thegoochking

Yea im still young my back can take a battering. Hopefully adding the springer seat will help reduce the damage, i dont have any dam twisties here living in florida the land of flat. I plan on getting another magna sooner or later anyway so i figure what the hell, ill make this one into a rideable show bike.
