SS Brakeline question

Hi,
I took off the stock line tonight and before I complete installing the new DD line I have a question for those who have previously installed the SS line on the Magna...Did you find that you needed to put on a protective rubber overcoating like the OEM has in order to keep the line from rubbing on any metal edges up near the tree or does the SS braiding and clear vinyl make the overcoat redundant?  Did you forgo fitting an overcoat and then later notice any rubbing contact on the line down the road? Any feedback would be very helpful; I'm hoping to wrap it up in the morning.  Thanks.

The clear vinyl coating they come with is fine. I haven't seen any rubbing on my 86 anywhere. Plus the additional coating would take away from the nice look of SS lines.
