Well, guys, it looks like we will have great weather.  It hasn't rained in forever, so we can pretty much ride whatever we like in the back country.

Just a reminder -- bring your appetite and your CASH -- Salt Lick doesn't take American Express -- or VISA, or MasterCard, or... well you get the idea.  There is a cash machine on site, but the fees are ridiculous, and it is often out of order.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning.

Surprise, I had planned to go on this but didn't commit until we were closer.

Now that we are closer, as you can see in another post I am having my motor media blasted this weekend and hope to paint the engine cases. Nothing wild, just back to stock unless I hear a good suggestion. I have considered doing black fins but I don't know if I can wipe off the outside edges evenly.

I will be tied up and not going, maybe I can have one back together for a short ride Sunday.

Well here it is, time for the ride and my knee is still swollen.  I can bend it and can sit on bike.  But if she ever started over to the right she would go all the way down.  I still can not put full weight on that knee.  So I will not make this one.  Maybe the next one.
You guys have a good time and someone eat some for me.

Devin, tried to call but it said your voice mail is not set up.  Quit talking to the pretty girls for a minute so I can call you!!  :P

My Garmin says we'll be there at 10:00 but that far out it's hard to pin down since our pace could vary quite a bit.  I'd say it could be anywhere from 9:00 to 10:30 but probably closer to the earlier number.  How long would it take you to get to Burnet?  We could call you when we get to the last gas stop before Burnet and you might be able to minimize your wait time.  Play it safe though, because my policy on unscheduled rendezvous (especially 5 hours into the route) is that if we don't see you and you don't catch us, we keep riding through.  Your only option then would be to ride on to Driftwood alone.  Let me know what you think.  I'll check this message before I go to bed and before I leave in the morning.

Curtis

P.S.  We'll be coming into Burnet from the east on 963 and go south on 281 for a few blocks before heading out west on 29.

A great ride happened today.  I enjoyed the company of each and every one of you immensely.  The Dallas contingent consisted of Bob and his friend Don, Greg C. and Greg O., Dave S. and myself.

Coyote, deer, skunk, raccoon, possum, ring-tail cat, hawk.................well, you get the idea!  We did some off-roading (on purpose) and Greg showed us how a Valk can turn 180* in it's own length.  We rode half of Inks Lake State Park twice.  We didn't make it to the Salt Lick but we did eat with Devin, Lawrence and ?? (dangit I'm tired, ok?).  I made almost the whole route before my first U-turn and then it was a whole ten minutes before the next one.  Stay tuned to future posts in this thread to see how all of these puzzle pieces fit together!!
