I'm new to the DFW area and need to take my 1988 Super Magna to get tuned up and inspected.  If you have or had a special motorcycle such as mine, which Honda shop in the DFW area would you take it to?

Magnum Magna

I don't know about Fort Worth but in Rockwall I hear stay away from Rockwall Honda.
I have no complaint about the Honda / Suzuki in Farmers Branch on 35E.

The best Honda shop you are going to find in North Central Texas is our next scheduled Magna Owners of Texas wrench session.

Bring your own parts and the attendees assist you in learning how to do it right and keep the dealership markup on parts and all labor costs in your wallet. You get to fellowship with a great bunch of other Magna enthusiasts (food) and will probably get a short, but exciting group ride with the other attendees in the deal.

If you don't know what you need parts-wise, the members here can advise you what and where to get it.

You will take great pleasure (and pride) in wrenching on your own ride.
You are not paid for what you do, but rather for what you will do and when that time comes, you will be highly underpaid.

I use a shop in Roanoke called Biker's Garage for my 86. The deal with alot of metric bikes and have good pricing. They even let me in the shop while working on my bike! 817-491-5200

The last time I was in Dallas and had work done on my bike it was at Honda Suzuki North on 35E.  I strongly suggest that you stay away from these folks.  I took my bike in for a simple rebuild of the carbs and nothing else and ended up with a 800.00 bill for work I didn't approve.  On top of that, they shove all repair bikes together so tightly that my mirror got broken and they tried to get me to pay for the replacement.  Unless they are under new management my opinion of them is that they are crooked as hell.  Not sure about any of the other dealerships in town.

Another good word for MOOT help.

Suggest you separate the inspection and repair functions into separate visits, if not separate shops.  OR better yet, attend a wrench session for the tune-up and repair part, then go get it inspected. :-) :-D
