when you buy custom foward controls it all comes in a kit all you need to install.
remove all stock stuff and add what the kit provides my cost was about 400 for mine.
let me tell you though the ride is very confortable if you look at big bottom pegs you can rest you heal on while riding.
cant beat this setup

this is what i have on my bike check it out

The forward controls look great, but for me, I will stay with the stock set-up.  It is extremely comfortable for me.  My brother is trading in his M109r for the new vmax because he can't stand the forward pegs on his bike.  It puts a lot of weight on his lower back.

I'm 6'1" and I love my Mapam forward controls.. (Except the shift rod broke - If this happens to you, message me)
The original peg placement left me quite cramped..
The only negative to the forward controls for me is that I lost my highway pegs so my only other option for leg movement on longer trips is to lay my foot over the peg.

I will say the instruction left a little to be desired.. The words didn't help much, and then there were pictures..
The pictures were clearly printed.. You know the old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words".. Well these pictures were worth about 5 words.. It's not that complex, but I'm just saying.. I've followed better "Engrish" instructions...

Joe Weese (CrazyJoe) on the magna riders forum makes what he calles the 'ModRod' for the MAPAM forward controls. it will not break or bend on you from what he says. he had a machine shop make them up special for him and has sold bunches of them. you can contact him here if interested:
