Brenda is not leaving town but we are still a go.  I can be there around 12:30 on Saturday.

Robert, Mary Ellen will be coming over this weekend so if Brenda wants to come on, she would have someone to talk to other than me jacking with her.  :-P

Comrade you need to get in line with the new American way. :-(  Don't be selfish. We need to share and share a like because some people are more equal then others.

I am sorry Terry did not see your post.

Brenda will probably be working and I will want some ride time on the new tire before Brenda rides with me.

Does that include paychecks?  :P   more equal?   how would you write that in a mathematical equation?

Does that include paychecks?: Yes please I am looking forward to the raise.

more equal?: At one time the book ANIMAL FARM was required reading.  With the new America the schools would probably be scared to make it required reading again.

Post your opinions, thoughts or questions if you have any.

After messing with tires falling over, hitting my camera propping them back up I have all the tires in, measured and photographed.

I bought the 165 than leaned towards the 155 than back to the 165 and now after crunching numbers and photos I'm in the thinking process, which one to try.

Width - measure from the widest point of the tire be it sidewall or tread (MC tire).

Height – measure from the floor to the highest point of the tire.

These numbers are Actual measurements, not what mfg states. Many numbers were 24 7/16 (chg to 24 ½), I rounded the fractions for ease of comparison.

The 155 is narrower than the Dunlop by ½ inch. Tread width on the Dunlop is significantly wider due to the tread wraparound design.

                                             Width               Height            Tread Width

Dunlop  150-80-15                 5 3/4                24 1/2                7 1/2
________________________________________________________________

Car Tire 155-SR-15                5 1/4                24.7                   4 3/4

Car Tire 165-HR-15                6 1/8                25.0                   5 3/4

165 – Dunlop – 155

165 – 155

I put on the one that is on the left:

We put on the darkside tire on today.  I have 45 psi in for now but tomorrow I will try reducing it. I am not an aggressive rider at all so I don't see a big difference.   I think I will like it.

What a Great Fun day this was!!!!!! One of the best days with good friends, ingenuity, and make no mistake.....we all had our jobs and worked but is was FUN!!.

The day started out at 7:30 AM, John (a friend of mine), Terry and Bob head out for a short breakfast ride to Denton café. Once finished we searched out Grifs Cycle Sports in search of Dyna Beads as this is what Bob wanted to use, Grifs didn't have them but did have the chrome stick-on. Rather than search further Bob decided on the stick-on.

John and Terry, John doing a poka dance before the operation. Bob's camera make me look ugly, I like my camera better.

Brake Caliper removal by John.

Bob and John (a friend of mine) , okay where did this come from..

I guess it goes here Bob

Bob's worn out tire and new tire in the waiting.

Terry busting the bead while John decides to kick the tire around.

Bobs tire being strapped down for the surgical procedure.

Bob's Monster rim after a good struggle getting the tire off, we won the battle but not by much. Applying the KY Jelly getting the rim prepped for the new CT.
\

Bob and John attempting to seat the tire, it will not after several attempts. Bob wisely brought a couple of ratcheting tie-downs.

John, trying to get the tire to catch some air, this time was a success!

Bob is back after a test ride, a squeal of the tire and a few smalls front wheels lifts off the ground.

This tire looks good as Bob takes off on the bike.

Robert enters the picture as we were working on getting Bobs tire off. Good thing he showed up when he did! Now on to Roberts tire, EASY compared to Bobs Monsterous Rocket Tire.

Roberts "tire seating" safety gear, gloves, cost, safety glasses, full face helmet. As I was doing this the others took refuge behind the trash recepticales.

Robert, John, Bob getting ready to balance Roberts CT.

Can you say Cheese!

Hoot, John reminded me to take a photo of the white Dot you so famously want to see.

John and Terry balancing Roberts tire.

The end of the adventure, what started at 7:30 AM ended at dark time....Bob's recommendation for Genghis Grill, only Bob has been, the rest of us were first timers. Nice place to eat, you fill your bowls with protein, vegetables, fruit, spices, pick a starch and sauce than let the grill masters to their trick.
Bob-front right, Robert (not seen), Terry – front left, Mary Ellen (left side), John (not seen) joined by his lovely wife Barbara (back right).

What a cool day.  I'm gonna have to see the tires on the Magnas in person.  So far
I can't imagine going that way with mine.

Hoot,

I did not have a chance to ride Roberts bike with the 165 mounted, he will be back over for more work and I'll take a ride than.

Bob's tire looks meaty on the bike of his bike, solid muscle!

If I don't go out of town next weekend I will come over so you can ride it.

I wonder if heli coils would work.
