My wife took to riding like a duck to water. If it gets over 60 degrees I don't have to worry about doing chores around the house, we'll be riding. And don't think she won't ride off a leave me, that's happened a lot :-?.

LOL.  Your a lucky man.  I admire a woman who can hang, or at least makes an effort to.  Sounds like yours is not just hanging, but setting the bar some too.

I tried to get my wife to ride over to a friends house the other evening with me.  About a 1 mile ride one way and only about 1/4 mile of it on a "busy" (45 mph) street with one stop light.  She would not go, said she is scared.  We used to ride together on my sportbikes all the time.  She says she was younger then.   :???:

My kids love to ride with me though.

Sent my wife an email telling her I wanted her to ride the motorcycle with me when I get it.   She replied.   You want to take me for a ride?  That's fine, I just need some protection.  so  :P

Jimmy, does this mean you've stopped breaking cam chain tensioners for a while too  :D?

I don't "break" them, I "test" them for durability

Ok here is the finished exhaust mod (from page 1) If chrome polish won't clean them up I guess I'll have to get them rechromed

Like I said, I left enough lip to add turn downs when I save up another $60.00..
Now it's clean the slow speed jets and a paint job (maybe a nice red) and I'll be ready for MootMag..

So, are we going to see a wolf or other ferocious animal painting on the tank?

The bike is looking a lot better already, Charles -- color me  green with envy...

LOL!!  I meant OUR local fuzz.  Your pics seem to be missing some "required" piece of evidence.  He must have found a box of donuts and got distracted.

Oh that ! Hey I get paid for advertising and I haven't seen a check yet :D..

There is no use starting a new thread so I'll just use this one to continue my work in progress, the Jade Valk. I realize I should started with the carbs instead of the exhaust, but at the time the exhaust mod seemed like less work and more fun :D. The slow speed jets have been stopped up ever since I've had the bike and the exhaust mod just made it more noticeable. Anyway after much encouragement from Greg at the last wrenching session in Seagoville (not)  :???: I decided to take carbs off and clean them. Including two Dr Pepper breaks it took an hour to remove and disassemble them.

The slow where bad two of them were completely stopped up.

It took longer to find something small enough to clean the jets than it did to remove them.

When I got them back together I remembered something I read on the VRCC about removing the smog junk, since there is so much of that junk under the carb bank I decided to go for it. the end result is    WOW what a difference, doesn't even feel like the same bike. I did not have to adjust anything, sync anything, or shim anything, thanks Curtis for the advice. I am one happy camper :D :D :D :D :D :D :D 8)!!!!!!

Stay tuned for Paint and Chrome!!

Just wait till ya get to reinstall them, OH JOY!

I would add another shim to the needle while ya have them apart, helps just the same as on the Magna, ESPECIALLY when somone cuts the mufflers apart etc.
