I remember someone mentioning that they either had media that would work for this, or where to get it. Last time I bought it from the stealer for some stupid price..

Can someone tell me what to use, or mail me some if you have an abundance?

That would be ME, send me your address and I will put you some in the mail. You can put it in there plain or oil it some.

Anyone who checks theirs, most likely you will find it gone sitting in your carbs somewhere possibly.

I have already shaved it just need to cut-to-size and tuck it in.

I paid $4.00 for the cut  factory piece from the Honda dealership in Springdale Arkansas.

That's kinda how I felt.. When I bought the bike the foam was gone..
I bought the foam from Honda, and yes it's been 40+K miles. I've washed it once, when I washed it this time it fell apart.. I don't want foam particles sucked up into my carbs.. If there is something else I can use that is more durable, then that is the route I prefer to go.. Right now I cut a cotton Flannel Sheet and oiled it and placed it across the box..
I hope my wife doesn't notice the whole in the sheet!!!

I've been reading these posts and I am a bit worried. I don't believe I have this piece. I have a 3rd Gen Magna do I still have this?

I have a big air box with a reverse snorkel on top and a filter inside, (Though I've got to admit I was tempted to modify the top half of the air box by sawing most of the top half off.).

Goes for me too. I've just been watching this thread to see if I could figure out what you guys were talking about. I don't see anything on my bike that looks like what you're describing. How about a pic?
I'd rather be outside than in.

Take off the faux chrome air cleaner on your bike on the key switch side.  Behind this faux cleaner you will see a little square box with a hose hooked to it.  This is a breather.  Inside this square box is a filter.  Look on the bottom and you should see the filter.  This is what everyone is referring too.   You will not see the breather unless you pull the chrome faux cover off though.   Hope this helps.

Yep I know exactly what you are talking about now. I've had the cover off before and know the box you are talking about, I just didn't look close enough to realize that there was a filter in it. Thanks!

So I opened mine up, and there were only remnants of material in it, which were oily.  If this is the crankcase breather tube filter, then my guess is that it is there to remove oil droplets before they reach the atmosphere -- or the side of my engine.

I found nothing in the shop manuals about it, but maybe I am just not looking in the right place...

Well there was no filter left in mine....Just a little bit of oily dirty crud....Question..Where does this end up at? Carbs? or Engine?.....Thanks

The box and tube is shown in drawing 5-4 in the shop manual
I don't know which way the flow is.. The tube that is connected to the box is plugged into the front of the main Filter airbox, (so I would assume in)...
The foam that Honda sells/installs is very thin and deteriorates over time..
This is why I was looking for a replacement material..
