Ok, here is the low down, I finally got around to replacing the broken chrome tach cover on the Valk, when I removed the cover I realized the plastic housing was going to require some repair also. When I removed the tack I also realized that with a couple of brkts I could move the tach and speedo up 2&1/2 inches and back an inch putting them in a more user friendly location (adding 6&1/2 inch risers had left them low and hard to read) What has this got to do with electronics, :-? nothing, but since everything was apart anyway it seamed like a good time to upgrade the lights in the guages (stock are really dim and hard to read) having taken a basic electronics course back in the 90's I had a box full of led's and resistors, so I decided to use what I had. Rather than have to try and decode about 50 resistors and and not wanting to cause myself permanent brain damage trying to figure Ohm's Law and which resistors would give me the correct resistance to get me to 3.3v and 25mA, I ask Lawrence to figure it for me, and just tell me the answer without explaining or trying to teach me the formula. Now you guys know, had I ask the question on this forum I would have gotten a five page history lesson on Electronics. :-? :D

PS after all that sorting and soldering the led's were too dim anyway so I went to the parts house and bought prewired 12v led's that worked out great 8).. Thanks after all that I needed a good razzing :D :D :D

Where's the photos of what you bought?

I did the same for a license plate light on my dual sport bike, rigged up my on LED with a resister, what a pain.

If you would have hooked the ground wire back up, the lights would have been brighter.
