My next issue with my first gen Magna is that my speedometer works, but the odometer doesn't.  Now normally that is an owner's dream, but is there anyway to fix that?  The speedometer appears to be a sealed unit.

Also, my tail light does not work.  The brake light does, but not the running light.  I've replaced the bulb and still no luck.  The five fuses under the seat appear not to be good.  Any thoughts.

I think you said in one of your earlier posts it was an '82. Mine is an '86 so I can't be of a lot of help because they are quite different  Is your license light out too ? Should be because they are on the same line. If it is working, check the tail light socket. As far as the fuses, you can't always tell by looking at them so check them with an ohmmeter or a test light. Looking at a Clymer manual it looks like your running lights (probably a brown wire you want to follow) run into something called a 'brake and tail sensor'.  Assuming you've already checked the fuses, cleaned the connections and you said you replaced the bulb I'm betting that's where the problem is---not 100% sure because it looks like power also runs through the ignition switch.  Looking at a parts fiche on BikeBandit I think it's the sensor under the rear fender area ( try following the wires back) and it doesn't look like it's available anymore. Maybe ebay or rewire the bike.  Like I said I'm just looking at the manual and my wiring is completely different even though the bikes look similar. If I'm looking at the right sensor, it doesn't look like a mechanical switch . It looks electronic but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe somebody that knows a little more about '82's will chime in. If you've got a meter and can read a schematic it shouldn't be too tough to find. If not, it can be a PITA and I've probable got you more confused now LOL.
As far as the odometer, Mine worked until a couple of weeks ago when I got ran off the road and the shaft on the trip odometer got bent. I bent it back but it didn't work anymore even though main odometer works. I'll be taking it apart soon so if you don't have an answer by then I'll let you know if I have any ideas.

With a proper dual filament bulb?  Other thought is the sensor filstoy mentioned.
