Jim brought his "new" '99 Valk up to Oklahoma for a De-Smog and carb job.  We had such luck with Jeff's ultrasonic cleaner on my V-65 that we tried it on the jets in Jim's Valk.  All I can say is "I'M GETTING ONE OF THOSE!"  The jets from some of the carbs were completely blocked: now they look like brand new!  8-)
We started getting things off the scooter Friday evening and stated for real on Sat morning.  We had several false starts running down the "easy to find almost anywhere" parts.  Well, anywhere but Tecumseh Oklahoma.  Finally found the necessary freeze plugs for the De-Smog and O-Rings for the carb job and got things moving.  Carbs 1, 3, and 5, took a small fraction of the time it took to do 2, 4, and 6.  (We did 2, 4, and 6 First.)
Got her all back together using my suspended external fuel tank, (no need for #6 vacuum that way) and she fired up and ran GREAT.  That was until we noticed the large puddle of fuel under the bike!  SHUT IT OFF! SHUT IT OFF! SHUT IT OFF!!!
The main fuel line to the T fitting was cracked and pouring fuel all over the place.  All the line I had in the shop was way too small, so BACK TO TOWN to find some fuel line.
After having Karen get her hands into the area to replace the line all was well and the Valk spoke in true power for the first time in a long while.
Here's a shot or two of the happy campers!

I would drive all the way to Oklahoma to help with carb work if there was PIE involved!

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Buddy and karen for putting up with me and showing me the ropes on the carbs. Stopped by Jeff H on the way home to drop off the ultrasonic cleaner and then on home.  Got in around 9PM but just had to go riding some. lol Wow it was like trying to ride a new bike.  Everything I had learned while I was running on 3 1/2 carbs i am having to learn over. :D
Thanks again Buddy for your directions and hospitality.

The MOOT'sters have always been the types that go out of their way to help others in need; just last year Greg mailed me the shims I needed for the carbs on my bike, free of charge.
