Oil filters

Some were in recent past I got a link to a site that lists the oil filters that will fit many different makes and models. I printed out the list for my Magna but forgot to not the link to the site.
I think I may have gotten the link here. Can anybody help. I get ask for it from time to time for other makes and models.

Talking about opening my eyes.  As a general rule the generics are made by the same manufactures of the name brand items and most manufactures are about the same.  My poor truck and I thought I was taking well care of it.
I am going to consider trying the Mobil 1 Mi-110 with the 2$ SuperTech filter and change the filter again at 3000 miles and add the unused oil left in the quart to replace the oil in the filter.

I am building up a list of all the common cross refrence parts for our bikes.  Mainly 1st gen's but things like the oil filters are good all if you check the Honda part numbers.

I replace the oil and filter this weekend.  I thought my little oil filter remover tool would work, but it was too big.  I ended up buying large pliers to remove the filter.  I got the Mobil 1 filter could not find the Mobil 1 MXT oil.  I ended up getting the Honda synthetic blend until I can find the Mobil 1 MXT.  I can feel a difference in the shifting it is a little smother.  Today I noticed with the clutch pulled all the way in I could still feel the engine tugging on the transmission or transmission grabbing the engine or what ever. I may need help finding the oil.  

My question is what is the mileage that you should change the synthetic blend at?

Check your clutch cable, it could be getting ready to break.  That is exactly what Chris's cable did right before it broke.  It was getting longer one strand at a time until the last strand................then the length went to infinity, lol.

I use Royal Purple but still change every 3000 or so but they are supposed to last around 5000 or more... Check that clutch cable like Curtis said it is fixen to go

I am thinking the cable just needs adjusting.  It does not do it all the time but at the wrench session this Saturday, I will let the experts look at it.

Royal Purple, is that a blend or straight synthetic.

Royal Purple is straight synthetic.  It appears to be pretty good stuff. Has been proved to make your engine run 12 to 17 degrees cooler.  I've been running it in my bike for the last 9,000 miles and I'm on my second change. I prefer their motorcycle specific version.

I don't know the change interval on a blend. I think it's still 3,000 miles because the traditional oil portion is still subject to the time/heat breakdown issues. Can I ask why you want a synthetic blend?

I would recommend lubing your clutch cable too. I've found it to make a big difference. Dave Dodge recommended Dri-Slide. You can pick it up at a local bicycle or motorcycle shop. It's a little pricey but you use very little and a bottle will last you for years. It's kind of like a liquid based graphite.

Full synthetic and I get such a ribbing because I love the stuff so much and tell everyone about it heheheheheheh and turn them on to it......

Sorry about that just noticed the Blend part LoL, yeah I would probably not go beyond 3000 miles with a blend.
I have really never understood a blended natural and synthetic oil option anyway.
Full synthetic would be my choice.

I used a blend for two reasons:  It has 23,400 miles on it and I don't know what was used in the past and could not find the correct Mobil 1. So I used the blend for the first oil change and will use a full synthetic for the next oil change.  It may not have been necessary to transition the change but I would rather try to be safe then sorry.

I did not adjust the clutch cable and did not have any tugging today.  That is why I think it just need a little adjusting.

My last change I used the Rotella T 15w40.  The main reason was $8.00 a gallon at Wally World + $3.00 for the Puralator at Pep Boys.  At that rate it don't hurt the wallet that bad to change every 2500-3000 miles.
