Hi all I was wondering when I get home I have to pull the carbs and clean them my friend that I got the bike from let it sit with gas in the carbs ugh.
Got it running but what fun had to pull the choke to get it running and run it up and down the street finally got it cleared but it won't idle so the only thing I can think is tear them down... Idle jets are surely clogged..
First ??? are the idle or slow jets #40 it has cobra drags on it so I am sure it has a jet kit  it runs great and ran great when I did the tune up for him last year then it sat hahahahah poor baby....Can't wait to get home and go riding and meet some of you all!!!

Have you tried running some Techron or even plain old ATF fluid through a couple of tanks of gas?

Lots of times that will clear those kinds of things right up.

Nope but that is the first thing I will do any kind of ATF or just the cheap stuff

I've never done it myself, always used Techron but knowledgable folks have indicated that a half a bottle or so of plain old decron type III ATF will do the same thing that techron does.

As always, YMMV so try it at your own risk.

Try adding some Seafoam to the gas, it works very well. You can get it at NAPA.

Well alittle of ATF and STP carb cleaner and also took the air filter off and sprayed carb cleaner in the ports and around and in the carb bells while she was running. Still going to try and see if I can make it to Gregs when I get off the boat if he is free. Which would put me there on the 3rd or 4th or Sept.  Still has a stumble around what I would call the cruise speed or mid range but Idles well and when you hit the throttle it goes like a rocket but when you are just going or just above idle she pops and sputters. Just have barely half a tank thru it I rode it around the house and then to work so about 70 or so miles on the souped up tank hahahaha anyhow thanks for all the input and will keep you posted....
