Subject says Valk but I would bet it applies to the Magnas too.

Made it to Germany and the Valk was delivered yesterday.  They done broke it...  :-(

If the ignition switch breaks can you replace it with a simple multi-contact switch?

The shippers are responsible for replacing it but I don't know that it's worth it.

I'd say If THEY are responsible, get it fixed the right way..

Pretty sure they are the same ones on the left the Magna and the Valk is on the right but they look the same LOL

Different part numbers.

Valk part is #35013-MZ8-U12 (kill switch, start switch). $ 58.26 at Honda Direct Parts (based in Texas). These guys ship internationally.

Thanks for the info and link Dave.  But it is not the starter switch / button that they broke.  It appears they left the key in the ignition and then pressed the key back towards the rear of the bike.  It bent the metal on the rear side of the key slot and now the key goes in but it won't turn forward or backwards any longer.

I will have the insurance order a new ignition unit and gas cap and put them on myself.  I will try to upload the pictures I just took in the next couple of days.

Again,  Thanks Dave for the link to the company.  I will use it to get my rear brake light housing too!

Ah Ha, it's all clear to me now.

I have used these folks off and on for a couple of years and they have been very good to deal with.

Since you're out of state (way out of state), you don't have to pay any sales tax. WooHoo.

hot dig a de dog...    I took apart the ignition switch and was able to fix it completely.  Now just to charge the battery(find and buy a 230vac charger) and go for a ride.  It's a nice balmy 6*c here today but the sun is shining bright.

I brought the valk  to Germany but unfortunately they banned me from riding in just my Speedo and helmet.

I hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy,
