Tore down my magna yesterday to do some preventative maintenance and cleaning, I hadn't realized that my breather box oil leak was as bad as it was.
Oil and dirt all over the #2 cylinder (front left). bottom side of carbs is a mess.
So I pulled the breather box all the chrome engine covers as well as the cylinder cosmetic covers and began the task of cleaning.

I did notice that the breather box top and bottom section that seal against the air filter have rubber or some kind of soft seal.
I pulled them out cleaned everything and put them back in upside down to put a fresh edge to seal against. the other edge was pressed in deformed from the lip sealing against it.

Put a new air filter in and reassembled the air box.

After the air box was back togeather, I had some older cleaner called "greased lightning" that worked great at cleaning up the oil and dirt all over the engine. just sprayed it on and it desolved the gunk. I ran out so I have to make a trip to get some more.
Going to clean all my electrical connections and put bulb grease on them to prevent corrosion.

I also have an exhaust leak on the back right side of the engine where the pipe(s) connect to a short pipe mounted to the head. I have heard something i thought was a leak and now I know where it is. probably needs a gasket or seal.

Going to do a compression check while I have everything easy to get to.

You'll need new crush washers. I replaced mine last year. It's a good time to clean your pipes up while you've got every thing apart.
I'd rather be outside than in.

Couldn't run the compression test. my gauge set doesn't have the small sparkplug threaded adapters.

My leak is not at the crush washers but where the main pipe slips over the short pipes attached to the heads.
There is a soft metal "lead" like stuff that should seal but was worn out and leaking.
I have the pipes off and have been cleaning a lot. got to get a parts list togeather to order.
