Clutch slipping on 5th gear on WOT

I have '95 with 66K miles on the original clutch. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the clutch slipped on 5th gear when I accelerated hard to pass a car doing about 75 mph. Before this, I was thinking that if the clutch fails it would slip on 1st or 2nd gear where most torque is required.
Is this typical with original equipment clutch? I am using the Magna as my daily commute 80 miles round trip. How much longer can I push this clutch or should I stop and replace it as soon as possible?

Thanks

That's pretty much normal and how they usually start to slip.

That's plenty on an original clutch... Keep going and you run the risk of bluing the plates, but you could go a little while, just stay out of the slip zone!

I will order the clutch kit and replace at first opportunity.

Thanks.

You may also want to purchase the cover gasket, however mine did not need replacing..

I would replace the cover gasket as Hoot mentioned and put in heavier springs when I replace the clutch.

Clutch slipping is most common in higher gears.  66k sounds like you got alot of life out of the original clutch. My advise would be get a kit since the price is usually better. As mentioned some members have had good luck with heavier springs. Also I highly reccomend purchasing the gasket since you wont know if you will need it until the cover is off, and it is not a common stocked part in my experience.
