Oh MAN, GREAT CHARLIE!! Perfect!

Just what I needed, now I can see what needs to be done, I can see the crack. Nice crisp photo to boot.

You guys are too sophisticated for me "three starter clutch flange/cover bolts"  :-P

All you need to say was, Unloosen the three outer ones then pop the middle one off, got it.

and the picture just ties it all together.

Just trying to be consistent with the terminology in the manual and parts fiche, mostly for posterity (what the heck is a "flange" anyway ... looks more like a cover to me :-?).  These records are extremely valuable to others down the road and having all the bread crumbs in place to make it as consistent a story as possible will hopefully make things clearer and lead to less head scratching.  I know I have been helped greatly by the wisdom I've found here and on the other Magna sites so I feel obligated to do whatever I can to keep things going.

1st of all, it's "clutch coger gadket"

I watched it no dancing girls, no car chases, no shoot outs it didn't even show the clutch coger gadket. How boring, next time see if you can find one with a little spice in it.

Yes I forced myself to watch after you took the time to find it, his kid needs to be still while holding his camera.

You come over and we can make our own video! I will post it on my You Tube, we can have a Miss Seafoam contest, Jerry can come over and hold the camera. I have no editing software though.

I LIKE your thinking Jerry, as I said I have no editing software so if some of the foam bikinis wash away I have no way to edit that out.  8)

In a rush as my computer acquired a virus and I was trying to get it going and do the starter clutch tonight
also, I was not being the most careful at what I was doing, flying so to speak not paying a lot of attention.

I saw markings on the starter clutch outer cover and pickup coil After I pulled it off, thinking why didn't you guys tell me I have to mark it before removal, upon further inspection I see the shaft was pinned, how lucky I was.

All the starter clutch parts (springs, rollers and pins) are in tonight, need oil before I can try it out and then only time will tell.

I thought the same thing when I started to reassemble the parts but as you point out, it will only go on one way.  You know I would have warned you if there was any question  :P

Some reason I had the thought the Magna used over 4 quarts of oil, so I started with 4 quarts, measured about five times before I read the manual.

The first three starts did fine.
